I'm reading The Rembrandt Affair by Daniel Silva.
It's AMAZING. Couldn't put it down all day on Monday, I'm now halfway through after only half a day of reading. It's this amazing blend of art history meets WWII fact book. Sort of like The Da Vinci Code meets Indiana Jones meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith meets Anne Frank. Or something like that. Anyhow, it is so riveting. I bought it on my Kindle, but when I was just looking it up on Amazon.com, I realized that this is actually the TENTH book featuring one of the main characters, Gabriel Allon. Has anyone ever read any of the others?!! I'm really interested to know if they are as good. I feel like this is sort of how I read the Da Vinci Code and then realized that Dan Brown had previously written Angels & Demons. You don't need to have read Angels & Demons to love and appreciate the Da Vinci Code, but it's interesting back story to have that information going into the book. And I actually ended up liking Angels & Demons more, once I had read both of them.
Since I'm totally hooked, I'll finish The Rembrandt Affair before backtracking and reading the other books.
p.s. I also bought Eat, Pray Love and was pretty disappointed. I ALWAYS finish my books, and I couldn't even make it through the Italy portion of that without losing interest. My plan was to read the book before I saw the movie, but I think I'll just see the movie and call it a day. I feel like a traitor to books by doing that, but perhaps this is an instance where the movie is better than the book?
